About the role
Develop and implement procurement strategy and a category management approach to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, optimise service outcomes, and drive continuous improvement across procurement and contract management
Lead, manage and develop the procurement team, fostering a high-performing, professional and customer-focused culture through coaching, performance management, workforce planning and targeted capability development
Oversee and manage the full procurement and contract lifecycle, including business case development, tendering, contract documentation, contract registration, performance monitoring and contract expiry management
Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of procurement policies, procedures, systems and controls to ensure compliance with organisational requirements, NSW Health Goods and Services Procurement Policy, probity standards and relevant legislation, while actively managing procurement risk and controls
Provide high-quality procurement analytics, reporting and expert advice to senior stakeholders; build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners; lead complex negotiations and procurement projects; collaborate across SVHA and NSW Health entities; and deliver training and education to support procurement capability across the organisation
About you
Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent experience, ideally within a healthcare or complex organisational environment
Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders to influence outcomes and achieve business objectives
Highly developed analytical capability, with the ability to translate data and insights into clear, concise and actionable information for decision-making
Demonstrated technical expertise across procurement, financial and management functions, including reporting, probity, governance and staff education
Strong leadership experience with a track record of managing teams to achieve high performance, combined with excellent written communication skills and the ability to deliver outcomes using sound judgement, initiative and professionalism
