The Role:
An exciting new opportunity has arisen within the Boeing Defence UK Supplier Management & Procurement (SM&P) Fixed Wing Major Subcontracts and Integrated Programme Team (IPT).
A Level 1 Procurement Agent provides day-to-day support in purchasing goods and services to meet operational needs. This entry-level role focuses on transactional procurement activities, supplier communication, order placement, Supplier cost or process efficiency savings and ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and regulations.
Location of either Yeovil or Bristol. With expected UK travel between Boeing sites. Hybrid role, 3 days minimum office location & the balance working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders using the company’s procurement system.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, invoices, and contract documentation.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements, delivery timelines, and specifications.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes for low-value purchases and manage order confirmations.
- Track order status and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve delivery or quality issues.
- Assist with receipt verification and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, goods received notes, and invoices.
- Support invoice matching and basic accounts payable processes in line with company procedures.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, audit requirements, and relevant country specific regulations (e.g., Bribery Act, Modern Slavery Act, tax and customs requirements when applicable).
- Maintain supplier data and basic supplier performance records (on-time delivery, quality issues).
- Support periodic procurement reporting and data entry for KPI monitoring.
- Participate in supplier onboarding/admin tasks and help maintain approved supplier lists.
- Escalate contract or supplier issues to senior procurement staff as required.
- Mitigates risks and issues.
- Initiates supplier improvement activities and provides results for integration into contracting strategies.

Required Experience/Qualifications:
- 0–2 years’ experience in a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain support role, or relevant administrative, planning experience in an Aerospace/Defence industry position
- Experience in SAP/Ariba
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English; A-levels or vocational qualifications preferred.
- Ability to acquire UK SC security clearance
- Full UK driving license
Desirable Experience/ Preferred qualifications:
- Any procurement-related certificate (e.g., CIPS Level 2/3, or equivalent) is advantageous but not mandatory.
This position requires a UK security Clearance for which the UK Government requires UK residency.
