Purpose

This position is responsible for the safe, efficient hands-on day-to-day operation and monitoring of ASU units including process plant control, production rate/product mix adjustments, safe start-up/shutdown of plant, cryogenic tanker loading and product quality assurance. Primary duties also includes process plant operation and plant maintenance.

Nature and scope

The job holder will be working on a rotating shift basis (24/7), inclusive of Malaysia /State public holidays where applicable to operate the ASU and related facilities in the Pengerang site.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Operate and monitor ASU process plants, including start‑up, shutdown, and capacity/product mix adjustments to meet business requirements.

  • Support plant troubleshooting in coordination with Plant Engineers and Plant Management.

  • Monitor, record, and report plant parameters, control room readings, and equipment conditions; escalate abnormalities and take corrective actions as required.

  • Prepare daily and monthly production reports to ensure operational traceability.

  • Ensure strict compliance with safety requirements, Basic Safety Process (BSP), and safe plant operation practices at all times.

  • Act as a Safe Work Permit Issuer, including permit issuance and supporting HIRARC reviews where applicable.

  • Perform cryogenic tanker and mobile storage unit filling, including required documentation and system transactions.

  • Support preventive maintenance (PM) and other maintenance activities, including spare parts inventory management and participation in plant turnarounds.

  • Maintain plant housekeeping standards, coordinating with internal teams and contractors as required.

  • Ensure full compliance with SWIM, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, FSMS, and other applicable standards.

  • Support internal and external audits (e.g. Corporate EHS, ISO, Halal recertification, customer audits) and closure of audit findings.

  • Maintain the readiness and health of quality control devices, including span and zero gas cylinders.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical Diploma in mechanical/chemical or

  • SPM (Vocational/Technical School) with minimum 2 years working experience in plant process.

  • Computer literate with basic MS Windows and Office knowledge.
