The Process Shift Supervisor (PSS) is accountable for leading shift personnel and ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of assigned process units at the Lima Refinery. This role is responsible for daily execution and adherence to process safety, occupational safety, product quality, and operational optimization requirements while driving team performance and operational excellence.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and manage Operator training programs, ensuring completion of individual training plans, procedure reviews, sign‑offs, and qualification requirements

  • Coach, mentor, and develop Operators through regular engagement, hands‑on drills, feedback, and continuous assessment of operational knowledge

  • Foster a High Reliability Organization (HRO) culture by promoting learning from errors, consistent accountability, open communication, and effective pre‑job and after‑action reviews

  • Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient facility operations aligned with commercial targets, safety limits, and regulatory requirements

  • Monitor unit and facility conditions through tours, run sheet reviews, trend analysis, and proactive identification of abnormal or unsafe conditions

  • Lead shift activities including turnovers, operational meetings, engagement briefs, what‑if drills, investigations, and communication of lessons learned

  • Enforce procedural, safety, and regulatory compliance through audits, LOTO oversight, MOC coordination, and accountability for standards and KPIs

  • Coordinate reporting, scheduling, SAP notifications, and maintenance readiness to ensure accurate documentation, resource coverage, and operational reliability

Who you are:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Ohio 3rd Class Stationary Steam Engineers License (will provide training if needed)

  • Advanced knowledge of the refinery union contract and sound personnel management skills

  • Experience/knowledge of reforming, hydrocracking, hydro-treating, and distillation

  • Good working knowledge of process flow diagrams

  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Strong working knowledge of all applicable industry rules and regulations, including

  • Occupational Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT)\Knowledge and skilled in safety protocols

  • Strong leadership skills with a focus toward continuous improvement

  • Proven ability to work in a team environment dealing with people from various disciplines to achieve goals
    and to identify and resolve problems

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills to set and exceed established goals, schedules, and deadlines

  • The ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, with other levels of management and
    with subordinates
