What’s the role
As a Process Operator, you will be responsible for the following duties listed below.
What you'll be doing
Comply with all safety regulations, policies, standards, and practices
Operate and monitor process and associated equipment for job area
Be trained and qualified in all functions of the Operator classification, and operate these functions as assigned
Perform in-process analytical testing, analyze in-process test results, and apply appropriate corrective actions
Perform minor routine, running, and preventive maintenance work
Maintain all necessary records, and provide a detailed summary of the shift in logbooks and electronically in End of Shift Reports, including but not limited to safety, quality, mechanical problems/repairs, and process changes
Review with oncoming shift operator a detailed summary of the shift including but not limited to safety, quality, mechanical problems/repairs, and process changes
Maintain all assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition, with aisles and passageways unobstructed
Receive training to be certified and operate any powered industrial vehicles required for the completion of work assignments
Receive and utilize training for the operation of computer software and hardware tools of the job, including, but not limited to, process control hardware/software, process analytical software, email, and inter/intranet
Package and load materials using heavy equipment, including forklifts
What we need from you
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work visa
Must be at least 18 years old
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent is required
Must possess a current, valid driver’s license
Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of current experience as a Process/Production Operator in a catalyst, petrochemical, refining, general chemical or other manufacturing related work environment is preferred OR have an Associate of Applied Science degree in Process Technology
Willing to work outside in inclement weather with or without accommodation
Willing to work in compact and confined spaces with or without accommodation
Willing to climb ladders, walk up and down steps, and work at heights with or without accommodation
Must be able to respond in a timely manner to site work schedule needs.
Willing to work a rotating shift work schedule
Willing to work overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends
As a part of the pre-employment selection process, candidates are required to submit to and receive satisfactory results from all pre-employment background, medical, reference and drug checks, including hair and oral fluids drug testing

This position starting pay rate is $31.48 per hour going up to $32.79 per hour after 210 days and up to 18 months; further pay increases occur beyond this time depending upon the position with a current “top rate” of $36.68 per hour.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
