General Summary:

The Process Manager is the anchor of the team, enabling cross-functional team members to work efficiently and stay aligned on priorities so the team can deliver outcomes faster. They facilitate agile ways of working, manage the flow of work (backlog, priorities, deliverables), remove blockers, and maintain a healthy operating rhythm.

As the connector across teams, the Process Manager fosters clarity, collaboration, and transparent communication, ensuring work continues to move toward shared goals. Serving as a change agent, they champion new ways of working and continuously improve how the team operates, ultimately acting as the glue that brings the pod together and keeps it moving with cohesion and momentum.

What You’ll Do

  • Team facilitation & operating rhythm
  • Enable effective team routines such as standups, planning, retros, and working sessions
  • Ensure team members have clarity on priorities, responsibilities, and upcoming deliverables
  • Remove blockers or obstacles that slow down execution
  • Ensure every voice in the team is heard, reinforcing a collaborative team environment

Ways of Working / Continuous Improvement

  • Create structure around how the team works, including charters, meeting cadence, communication flows, and decision-making
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and implementing better ways of working
  • Introduce lightweight agile practices appropriate for business teams (not software development)
  • Monitor team health and engagement; identify tensions early and help resolve them productively
     

Backlog & Prioritization

  • Maintain visibility to the team backlog, helping the team align work to strategic goals
  • Help the team prioritize efforts based on value, effort, capacity, and timing
  • Ensure readiness for sprint/iteration planning; bring clarity to "what" and "why."

Alignment & Communication

  • Act as a connector between the team and supporting squads (e.g., analytics, experience, creative)
  • Provide structured communication to team leadership, stakeholders, and the CXO leadership team
  • Help team members prepare for governance or leadership discussions, including status updates, decision requests, and escalations
     

Coaching & Change Adoption

  • Coach team members on new ways of working, reinforcing agile principles without being dogmatic
  • Influence cultural shifts as we move from linear, waterfall processes to iterative delivery
  • Model servant leadership, supporting the team rather than directing it
     

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in process management, agile facilitation, program operations, business operations, or similar (not software PM)
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate cross-functional discussions and move teams toward action
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence without authority
  • Ability to create clarity out of ambiguity and bring structure to unstructured environments
  • Growth mindset and comfort coaching others through change
  • Experience in agile, or operating model transformation helpful
  • Background in marketing operations, CX, digital experience, or business operations helpful
  • Experience with backlog management or workflow tools (e.g., monday.com, Jira)

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$75,500.00-$142,700.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.  All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
