DESCRIPTION:
The Process Improvement Lead is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives within the Technical Services department (Maintenance, Engineering, Utilities, Calibration, and Equipment Qualification).

The role aims to enhance operational efficiency, GMP compliance, equipment reliability, and overall departmental performance. The position acts as a cross-functional leader, ensuring alignment with site strategy, regulatory requirements, and corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify improvement opportunities through KPI analysis

  • Lead standardization and simplification initiatives across maintenance processes, technical change control, asset management, and capital project workflows.

  • Support SOP harmonization and process optimization within a GMP-regulated environment.

  • Ensure that all improvement initiatives comply with GMP requirements and applicable regulations (EU GMP, FDA, etc.).

  • Develop data-driven tools for tracking performance and identifying trends.

  • Support strategic planning activities within Technical Services by providing analytical insights and performance evaluations.

  • Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Validation, EHS, and Project Management to ensure alignment of improvement initiatives.

  • Contribute to digital transformation initiatives within the Technical Services function.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or equivalent).

  • Lean / Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) preferred.

  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) considered a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical industrial environment

  • Proven experience in:

    • Process improvement initiatives

    • Maintenance and Engineering environments

    • GMP-compliant operations

  • Experience managing cross-functional projects.

  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.

  • Good understanding of GMP regulations and technical change control processes.

  • Excellent communication and facilitation abilities.

  • Ability to operate effectively in complex and highly regulated environments.

Languages

  • Fluent in Italian.

  • Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
