Process Engineering Manager provides functional leadership and partnership by engaging, aligning and driving engineering solutions that are standardized, inherently safer, sustainable, cost-effective, add value to the business and synergic with other functional subject matter expert in manufacturing operations.

Role Purpose

Provide leadership for Process Engineering and Sustainability across Indonesia manufacturing sites and a technical SME for SEA, ensuring safe, reliable, efficient, and sustainable operations rolled out post implementation aligned with Global Engineering Standards, Process Safety requirements, and Sustainability commitments.

The role drives process excellence, management of change, technology standardization, localization initiatives along with OBLs, capital readiness, and sustainability transformation in close partnership with Operations, SH&E, Process Safety, Capital Engineering, and regional COEs.

  • Lead Indonesia Process Engineering & Process safety program with cross-functional partners. Own and maintain process engineering documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, mass & energy balances, operating envelopes, SOPs, and control philosophies; apply standard process engineering tools to drive yield, stability, loss reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • Support PSM and Process Safety activities by technically contributing to HAZOP / PHA, MOCs, RCAs, and PSSR, ensuring process design intent, operating limits, and safeguards are correctly defined and implemented at site level.
  • Ensure integrity of process safety documentation and data, including hazard registers, relief system design basis, consequence models, and safeguard verification, working closely on Process Engineering to embed safety into process design, procedures, and operating limits.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing flexibility, supply chain improvement, and business initiatives based on the needs.
  • Develop and implement standards to improve productivity, optimize production processes to deliver cost savings and quality improvement
  • Oversee capital projects and ensure alignment with regional capex process requirements.
  • Embed process safety into design, operations, and change management- especially the new manufacturing facility project, product transfer and product qualification needs.
  • Analyze and reduce processes losses and resource use (energy, water, solvents, raw materials).
  • Deploy sustainability programs at sites to meet Net Zero Carbon, Net Positive Water, and Zero Discharge goals.
  • Track performance metrics and systemic risks using PDCA models.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering policies and standards through reviews and audits.
  • Deliver improved process performance, reduced losses, strong safety outcomes, and high-quality projects.

    Qualifications

    • Specialized engineering or science degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university.
    • 7+ years of Process Engineering or Process Safety Engineering with design experience in Chemical or related industry and minimum 5 years in a managerial role
    • Operations and engineering background
    • Well-versed with major Industrial codes and standards relevant to core engineering and technically skilled in using Process Engineering related tools, Autocad and methods
    • Understands and adheres to policies, procedures, and guidelines pertaining to Engineering, safety, health and environmental, emphasizing this perspective in their own work and others.
    • Record of consistently delivering results despite obstacles and setbacks, strong attention to detail
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in a variety of communication settings (one-on-one, small, and large groups)
    • Ability to lead projects and influence cross-functional teams to a common path forward
    • Ability to work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and gain the trust and support of others
    • Ability to make quality and timely decisions
    • Ability to effectively exchange information, instructions, and ideas within cross-functional technical groups
