Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
5–15 years of relevant experience in refining or petrochemical industries.
Proven experience in troubleshooting, analyzing, and optimizing complex process systems.
Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
Bilingual – fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
Proficiency with MS Office and process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, PipeFlo, HTRI).
Strong ability to set priorities, manage time effectively, and deliver on commitments.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated initiative, autonomy, and adaptability in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment and commitment to continuous learning and technical excellence.
Outstanding communication and teamwork skills across disciplines.
Responsibilities :
Carry out various engineering mandates, including hydraulic calculations, control valve sizing, instrumentation, and validation of process conditions.
Act as a Development Specialist in collaboration with Execution and Operations Specialists for the realization of refinery projects of varying size and complexity.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to projects.
Participate in the commissioning of projects and their transition to operations.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of process engineering methods and departmental procedures.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, corporate standards, and industry best practices.
Prepare and/or maintain the quality and accuracy of engineering documents under the responsibility of the Process Engineering Department (P&IDs, PFDs, documentation concerning pressure vessels and safety valves).
Ensure the periodic update of process unit simulations.
Conduct operational safety analyses (PHA, What‑if, surveys, DOW indices, IEC calculations, RBI data).
Monitor and improve mass balance models.
Evaluate the performance of process equipment (pumps, exchangers, furnaces, etc.).
Conduct field operation surveys to support reliability and operational excellence.
Work location and other details:
Location : Montreal Refinery (11701 Sherbrooke Street East).
Schedule : 40‑hour week, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime based on business needs.
Industrial environment : access to equipment via ladders, work both indoors and outdoors, and occasionally in confined spaces.
