As a Process Engineer – Level 2/3 located in Promontory, UT, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.
The Process Engineer is responsible for establishment and execution of all technical aspects of Process Development to perform energic processes on rocket motors and munitions. The Process Engineer will perform and administer all aspects associated with execution, coordination and development of current and future projects involving the creation and crafting energetic material. Provide technical expertise on development of energetic production techniques, cost estimation, and process design and automation. You will also be expected to obtain a working knowledge of Fanuc robot capabilities and operation and automation.
This position will work a 4/10 schedule, a minimum of 3 days on site, with every Friday off.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Primarily working with energetic materials.
Develop processes to craft energetic materials using robotic technologies.
Provide support for the aging and surveillance of rocket motors and munitions.
Administer and coordinate with multiple departments for successful process development.
Presentation of data and recommendations to internal and external customers.
Ability to Travel expectation of 5% – 10%
Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
Experience working with energetic materials related to rocket motors or warhead production.
Ability to communicate technically complex topics and scenarios clearly and concisely.
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
Experience working with energetic materials related to rocket motors or warhead production.
Ability to communicate technically complex topics and scenarios clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven ability to own a project and strive to follow this project from conception through process establishment.
Knowledge of the ESI and EPLM systems.
Understanding of ORI’s, PFMEA, and the POR process.
Familiarity with NX or Solid Works modeling software.
Experience working with Fanuc robots
Ability to coordinate between various engineering disciplines.
Strong understanding of solid rocket motor system design, development, and manufacture
Demonstrated experience with problem solving, problem investigation teams, and critical decision-making skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations
Demonstrated team leadership skills - leader of significant technical projects or investigations and management of multiple program tasks to schedule and budget
Experience with the proposal process
Creative interest in developing new methods and technologies to improve processes.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
