Job Scope: The Process Engineer will be involved in all aspects of the manufacturing process (production, maintenance, capital, etc.). This position is a key member of the plant management team and has influence and shared accountability for plant safety, quality, cost performance and assurance of long-term viability and operations success in Duke, OK.
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Establish and maintain safe working conditions and procedures.
Develop personal knowledge of the production process and equipment.
Develop personal knowledge of quality including ASTM and UL requirements.
Work in conjunction with other department managers & employees to solve problems and improve plant safety, quality, and efficiency.
Execute capital and major maintenance projects.
Recommend and implement improvements to increase efficiency.
Maintain proactive working habits to improve performance of crew and daily operations.
Develop a detailed technical knowledge of processes and equipment along with the control systems in order to support operations and maintenance.
Develop personal knowledge of Company policies, procedures, and culture.
Oversee the milling and calcination operations to ensure sufficient stucco supply for wallboard production.
Manage long term capital and operations planning for the mine and ore haul departments.
All other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university is required.
Registration: Professional Engineering registration or CPIP certification is highly preferred.
Experience: Requires 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in chemical, petroleum, or biochemical process design engineering.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience preparing and submitting requests for capital and project management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong information gathering, investigative, and troubleshooting skills
Strong computer skills and capability to develop and update maps, sketches, and prints
Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects and timelines
Must possess technical skills and abilities that are generally expected from degreed engineers
Strong organizational skills with the ability to develop detailed plans to accomplish business goals then execute the plan
Must be able to adapt to changing conditions to achieve set business goals
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
