Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
The Process Engineer works independently or in conjunction with others to analyze performance, identify key improvement opportunities, develop action plans, and execute improvement in support of achieving the organization’s objectives in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Process Engineering
Recommend and implement solutions to drive continuous improvement
Design and conduct process improvement tests in the plant
Monitor, analyze and report on process performance through trends of Key Process Input and Output Variables
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and quality system requirements
Own selected work instructions, ensuring clarity and effectiveness
Lead and participate in troubleshooting, as needed
Lead problem solving for issues escalated from the operators. Analyze to determine possible causes, act to verify the cause, provide immediate solutions, and implement preventive actions to make the problem disappear forever.
Execute assigned continuous improvement projects that drive quality, delivery, or cost objectives. Develop and own action plans to deliver performance results
Assist in the training of operators, enabling them to generate improvement ideas and to sustain the improvements
Participate in the design, debug, and commissioning of capital projects.
Interface and maintain relationships with the Operations, Maintenance, Technology, HSE, ATS, and R&D functions
Will work on US Government projects
Product Engineering
Monitor and analyze performance data for selected product lines
Identify opportunities for prevention and for improvement through analyses, study, observation, and operator interactions
Lead and participate in Incident Investigations for low yield, high scrap, rework, or job variance issues
Report on selected product line performance frequently in morning production meetings and monthly engineering meetings
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
Manufacturing experience
Basic knowledge of SPC methodologies
Working knowledge of 5 Whys Problem Solving methodology
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using statistical analysis software (JMP, Minitab, MATLAB, etc)
Experience with lathe and bias winding equipment
Experience with Google applications (Slides, Sheets, Docs, Drive, Gmail)
Six-sigma Green belt or Black belt certification
G-Code programming for CNC lathe
