We are seeking a motivated and technically proficient Process Contamination Control Engineer to join our Contamination Control organization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing, optimizing, and sustaining semiconductor manufacturing processes, with a focus on contamination prevention and environmental control across critical production areas. This position requires strong analytical capabilities, familiarity with sophisticated instrumentation and monitoring systems, and the ability to interpret complex datasets to drive swift, informed responses to out of control (OOC) conditions. A validated foundation in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data driven decision making is crucial for ensuring process stability, improving tool performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Develop and optimize airborne molecular contamination (AMC) supervising systems to ensure cleanroom coverage in critical process areas.
  • Develop preventative maintenance plans aligned with industry standards and facility requirements; provide mentorship to technicians.
  • Apply structured experimental build and statistical methods to validate measurement accuracy and maintain data integrity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to define monitoring requirements and evaluate new technologies.
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and support early implementation of contamination detection improvements.
  • Maintain contamination control documentation and supervising dashboards to track performance and compliance.
  • Analyze contamination data trends and respond to deviations using statistical process control (SPC) principles.
  • Ensure contamination control plans comply with recognized industry standards and interpersonal policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: BS in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in semiconductor or cleanroom environment preferred or equivalent academic experience in the fields of Analytical chemistry, Environmental chemistry, Air quality science and Environmental monitoring.
  • Statistical analysis proficiency and understanding of DOE (Design of Experiments).
  • Familiarity with AMC monitoring tools and contamination control principles.
  • Tight-knit collaboration and technical social skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of sophisticated analytical technologies (e.g., SYFT-MS, IMS).
  • Experience with SPC systems and cleanroom contamination audits.
  • Experience with AMC monitoring systems and tools.
  • Familiarity with SPC-based AMC trend analysis and OOC response.
  • IMS (Ion Mass Spectroscopy) for ion mobility detection of amines and acids.
