The Opportunity
Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (formerly Alere) is part of Abbott's Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies. The position of Triage Representative is within Toxicology located at Gretna, LA at Alere Toxicology Services. In this role, the individual will be responsible for addressing laboratory-related issues that arise internally through Client Services or externally through direct client contact in accordance with the SAMHSA mandatory guidelines and those of other regulatory organizations.
What You’ll Work On
Be a liaison between internal Client Services and the Laboratory to address request and issues
Correct drug test result records as requested, including changes to Donor information, facility, and/or panel
Research lost specimens and received specimen status
Arrange for shipment of specimens identified as 'Send-outs' to other laboratories for analysis and track progress
Report Fatal Flaws for Non-Federal Test
Report, Sort, and Forward Misdirected samples
Knowledge of Suspense Facilities
Additional functions may include sorting in Accessioning
Adhere to all security procedures for ensuring confidentiality of donor information
Must comply with company policy
Required Qualifications
High school education
At least three years of experience in laboratory setting
Preferred Qualifications
BS degree in science or equivalent related field
Ability to provide client support
Advanced oral and written communication skills
Advanced organizational, follow-up and problem-solving skills
Ability to type 50-55 wpm with extensive 10-key experience
Ability to understand certification requirements for SAMHSA, CAP-FUDT, and other regulatory bodies
Basic ability to understand the function of a Laboratory Information System (LIS)
Basic understanding of drugs that are tested
Work Environment

The base pay for this position is
$15.65 – $31.35/hourIn specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
