The Opportunity

We are seeking a Privileged Access Management (PAM) Engineer to join our Business Technology Services team in Lake County, IL or Little Canada, MN. In this role, you will design and deploy enhancements to our PAM solutions while providing ongoing support for BeyondTrust platforms. You’ll help strengthen Abbott’s security posture by driving strategic initiatives and collaborating across teams to implement best practices.

What You’ll Work On

  • Design, develop, and implement PAM solutions leveraging BeyondTrust technologies.

  • Provide operational support for existing PAM platforms, including troubleshooting and change management.

  • Identify recurring issues and implement durable solutions to improve platform stability.

  • Collaborate with architects to align with PAM governance strategy and industry best practices.

  • Advocate for security policies and develop reference materials for business teams.

  • Drive modernization initiatives and reduce technical debt within the PAM ecosystem.

  • Ensure smooth transition of project deliverables into operational support teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing and operating enterprise solutions.

  • Deep understanding of identity security, access governance, and lifecycle management.

  • Experience with coding/scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and API integrations.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical expertise delivering PAM capabilities at scale using BeyondTrust (preferred) or CyberArk.

  • Experience integrating PAM with Active Directory/Microsoft Entra ID, SSO/MFA, SIEM, ITSM, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

  • Familiarity with RBAC and workflow design.

  • Experience in FDA-regulated environments.

  • Knowledge of PKI, HSMs, Venafi, Entrust, HashiCorp, and cloud identity/key management systems.

The base pay for this position is

$86,700.00 – $173,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
