The Secondary Advisory team at Moelis & Company is a global team focused on advising financial sponsors and institutional investors on a wide range of strategic liquidity solutions across the private capital universe. The team works closely with industry and product groups across Moelis to provide relevant market insight, structuring advice, and best-in-class execution to clients. As a member of the team, successful candidates will be responsible for providing advisory, structuring, and execution services to clients with investments across the private capital universe.
Position Description:
The Associate position at Moelis offers exposure to all aspects of the GP-led credit secondary market including multi-asset continuation vehicles, tender offers, structured preferred equity solutions, NAV loans, GP stake sales, and various other financing solutions for sponsors and their portfolio companies. This individual will be a part of a dedicated credit secondary team within the broader PCA practice.
Responsibilities include:
Perform due diligence on both asset-level credit risk and fund valuation mechanics.
Develop financial models for continuation vehicles, NAV facilities, and other structured solutions.
Prepare offering documents, and other transaction materials.
Manage investor outreach and diligence for credit and secondary mandates.
Conduct market research on private credit and secondary market trends.
Assist in structuring and negotiating transaction terms.
Support business development by identifying opportunities in private capital markets.
Qualifications:
Must have 1-3 years of direct credit experience.
3-5 years of relevant experience in leveraged finance, secondaries advisory, or investment banking, with direct transaction exposure.
Understanding of the private equity industry and secondaries industry.
Highly motivated individual with a strong desire to learn.
Keen attention to detail.
Strong analytical and technical skills (including extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
Ability to think creatively in order to solve problems.
Excellent communication skills.
Organized, with good judgment and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team.
Salary Expectations: USD $175,000-$225,000
