Privacy Program Manager

About the Role:

The Privacy Program Manager will strengthen Gen’s lobal privacy program by ensuring compliance with evolving data protection regulations, driving operational excellence, and building customer trust in our products, services, and operations.

Reporting to senior privacy counsel, the Privacy Program Manager will collaborate closely with business, engineering, and compliance teams worldwide to embed privacy by design into Gen’s culture and enhance privacy program maturity.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the design, execution, and ongoing enhancement of Gen’s global privacy compliance framework.
  • Interpret emerging data protection laws, translate them into actionable requirements, and update internal policies, playbooks, and controls.
  • Drive a wide variety of cross-functional privacy initiatives, from product reviews and launches to data subject access rights processes and automation to M&A privacy program integrations.
  • Embed privacy by design across product and engineering teams by identifying and mitigating privacy risks, including conducting and managing data privacy impact assessments and coordinating with the Data Protection Officer on high-risk activities.
  • Oversee privacy audit and assurance programs (e.g., NIST-P, FTC, ISO, SOC 2), coordinate with internal and external auditors, and track remediation.
  • Administer data subject rights operations and scale privacy workflows through automation and privacy tools (e.g., OneTrust, CHEQ).
  • Develop and maintain privacy metrics, dashboards, and reports to inform leadership and demonstrate regulatory readiness.
  • Deliver targeted privacy training, promote awareness initiatives, and foster a culture of privacy ownership and accountability across Gen.
  • Collaborate with risk, security, and compliance teams to align privacy practices within enterprise-wide governance frameworks.
  • Support privacy incident response and regulatory inquiries, ensure prompt investigation, and manage corrective actions.
  • Manage privacy-related third-party assessments, customer inquiries, and certification activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in privacy, compliance, or risk management; at least 3 years managing or leading privacy or related program functions.
  • Deep understanding of global privacy laws and frameworks (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, NIST-P, ISO 27701).
  • Demonstrated experience managing audits (e.g., NIST-P, FTC assessments) and regulatory reviews.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with proven ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with privacy management tools such as OneTrust or CHEQ.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex privacy concepts for both legal and non-legal audiences.
  • AI-First mindset and experience using AI tools to streamline processes and help teams work more efficiently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IAPP certifications (CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, or FIP).
  • Experience working in technology, SaaS, or cybersecurity sectors.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
