Performs complex electronic pre-press functions. Must utilize a computer to prepare orders for printing; will likely utilize graphic arts software in the completion of duties. Duties and tasks at this level are of high complexity.
Job Duties
Receives, prints and sorts incoming electronic standard and custom orders. Locates and pulls archived proof sheets and matches to incoming orders. Locates electronic order files and aligns to appropriate art templates, making minor adjustments as needed.
Outputs electronic file to appropriate plate making equipment. Groups orders by stock, ink, color, quantity to ensure maximum printing efficiency and delivers to press-line. Prints proof of electronic file and files for future orders;
Replenish, chemicals, plate material as needed;
Trouble shoot plate making equipment, escalating complex issues as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
High School/GED.
2 years prior experience in PrePress.
Additional training in Graphic Arts or related field.
Strong knowledge of graphic arts software (Adobe Illustrator).
Intermediate to advance computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications (PQs)
Education: Associates Degree in Graphic Arts.
Experience: Prior experience working with computers to manipulate and organize electronic files. Prior experience with graphic arts programs preferred (Freehand or Adobe Illustrator, etc.), MAC computer experience.
Strong organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
