Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Principal Traffic Administrator to provide shipping and transportation technical expertise for our Medium Caliber Cannon production programs in our Mesa, AZ facility. This position is focused on providing technical and process leadership in the shipping and transportation of medium caliber cannons, spares, and after-market services supporting the Guns business segment at Armament Systems Division.

Position Description:
Create necessary shipping documents including shippers, Certificate of Conformances, shipping labels, Bill of Ladens in compliance in contract, government, and international requirements
Plan, schedule, and route inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs, and company policy
Schedule with carriers, reconcile freight bills, prepare and negotiate claims, and select or recommend carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material
Conduct research on transportation methods, rates, and routes
Develop programs to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges and evaluate past performance and cost of transportation
Interfaces with internal and customer software to plan and schedule logistics
Basic Qualifications:
Our position emphasizes skills, we require 9 years of relevant experience. We will consider a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience, a Master’s degree plus 3 years of experience, or a PhD plus 1 years of experience
Material transactions in support of a production environment
Experience working with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and an ERP/MRP software system
Proven partnership/collaboration skills and ability to partner with cross functional disciplines within a team
Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Shipping and Logistic software and processes
Experience with MRP software (SAP, CostPoint, etc)
Experience with domestic and international shipping standards
Experience coordinating international exports and freight forwarders
