Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Test Engineer to join the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Battle Command System (IBCS) domestic program in Huntsville, Alabama.  IBCS integrates disparate radars and weapons to construct a far more effective IAMD enterprise.  IBCS delivers a single integrated air picture with unprecedented accuracy and broadens surveillance and protection areas with the U.S. Army.

Position Summary:

The Principal Test Engineer will perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and analysis to ensure system supportability and effectiveness across the total system product. Responsibilities include verification activities across all system levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical planning and system integration test activities.

  • Design, develop, and implement testing methods for verification testing.

  • Verify system requirements through analysis, inspection, test, and demonstration.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Engineer Test: 5 Years experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline, 3 Years with Masters, 0 years with PhD.

  • Active Secret Security Clearance investigated within the last 5 years.

  • Experience in systems engineering, integration, or verification.

  • Knowledge of systems testing and requirements verification methods.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Experience creating, editing and executing test procedures.

  • Experience in an Agile Development and Scrum Team environment.

  • Must be willing to travel 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IBCS Knowledge and experience.

  • Experience in Engineer Change Proposals (ECPs) in Army Air and Missile Defense Systems.

  • JIRA and Confluence experience.

  • Security+ Certification.

  • System/Software/Hardware testing experience.

  • Experience in Linux environment.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,900.00 - $148,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
