Principal Technical Professional – Mechanical (Rotary Eqpt)
- Under general supervision, independently applies engineering knowledge, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations.
- Good spoken and written communication skills in English
- Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on scientific interpretations and advice.
- Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget.
- Willing to travel globally and undertake short term assignment with aboard offices and project site as needed to support projects.
Incumbent will be responsible for the specification and application of rotating machinery including compressors, turbines, pumps. Additional duties will include specification, selection and services relating to mechanical equipment such utility equipment, packaged units, material handling and bulk solids processing systems. Exposure to engineering of LNG and Offshore facilities is desirable. FEED exposure will be an advantage
- Very good understanding of rotating machinery design like Compressors, Pumps, Turbines, etc
- Support junior engineers in Preparation of datasheets, Specifications and Requisitions for Rotating equipment and machinery
- Perform technical bid evaluations.
- Vendor drawing review and engineering coordination of technical information with vendors and company engineering specialists.
- Witnessing of acceptance tests at vendor shops.
- Field commissioning and startup support when required.
- Technical Skills acquired with experience includes some of the following
- BE / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering field
- At least 12 years of progressive experience, specifically in rotating machinery specification and selection.
- Hands-on knowledge of Standards like API-610, API-617, API-619, API-675 is a must.
- Experience in engineering Oil and Gas, Chemical, petrochemical / Refining LNG, ammonia, ethylene and offshore facilities is a must.
- Working knowledge of API standards for steam and gas turbines is preferable
