We are currently seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Principal Systems Engineer interested in designing, deploying, integrating, tuning, and commissioning advanced ATM systems as part of our Automation and Surveillance team. This position offers opportunities to travel internationally, acquire a diverse range of practical engineering experience, and interact with customers around the world. Currently, we are seeking an engineer to lead a major ATM upgrade project at several airports in Australia.
Job Responsibilities include:
Understand customer requirements (including safety and security standards) and decompose them to generate system designs and architectures, hardware requirements, and software requirements.
Perform design analysis and trade studies.
Lead small, interdisciplinary teams to develop detailed designs and technical and programmatic artifacts.
Develop technical documentation and presentation materials for design reviews.
Lead programmatic and technical discussions with customers.
Help integrate, configure, and test systems in the factory and in the deployed environment.
Work collaboratively with customers, prime contractors, and subcontractors to integrate systems and subsystems.
Analyze and reduce large datasets to quantify system performance, investigate anomalies, and develop solutions.
Support proposal activities by analyzing requirements, assessing compliance/NRE, providing cost and schedule input, and providing/editing technical written material.
Utilize and improve existing Saab processes, policies, and products.
Provide mentoring and oversight to less-experienced engineers.

Compensation Range: $165,700-$223,800
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in engineering, physics or computer science from an accredited institution or relevant military education & training
20+ years of relevant experience
