Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Principal / Sr Principal Integration & Test Engineer based out of Annapolis, MD.

What You’ll get to Do:

  • Maintain processes and procedures for the assembly and test of spacecraft, aircraft and/or related equipment.

  • Coordinate integration activities with supervisors, program engineers and various customer organizations.

  • Document and disposition hardware discrepancies and pursue root cause and corrective actions.

  • Design and develop tooling to aid in the integration and test process.

***Note: This position is contingent upon Contract Award.***

This position may be filled as a Principal Integration & Test Engineer or Sr Principal Integration & Test Engineer.

Basic Qualifications Principal Integration & Test Engineer:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical degree with 5+ years of related experience or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field with 3+ years related experience, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field with 1+ years related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Experienced with advanced troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.

  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work in an integrated product team (IPT) environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking, problem solving skills and Systems Thinking mindset.

  • Excellent decision making and communication (written and oral) skills.

  • Ability and willingness to work independently with little oversight or direction.

  • US Citizenship and current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance is required.

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical degree with 8+ years of related experience or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field with 6+ years related experience, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field with 4+ years related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Experienced with advanced troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.

  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work in an integrated product team (IPT) environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking, problem solving skills and Systems Thinking mindset.

  • Excellent decision making and communication (written and oral) skills.

  • Ability and willingness to work independently with little oversight or direction.

  • US Citizenship and current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an integration and test environment for complex mechanical/electronic systems evaluation.

  • Experience performing Design Verification Tests, First Article Acceptance Tests and Factory Acceptance Tests.

  • Experience overseeing subcontractor testing.

  • Experience working closely with Mission Assurance and Quality Assurance.

  • Experience with CADSTAR and ISE drawing updates.

  • Working knowledge of the following specialty areas: Sonar, electric motors and motor controllers, cable drawings.

  • Ability to work in a customer facing role to assist in operator training.

  • Ability to oversee maintenance and training material creation.

  • Ability and willingness to travel.

  • Active Top Secret clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,900.00 - $134,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $168,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
