Principal Specialist, Learning Operations

The Learning Operations Specialist drives the seamless execution and delivery of Learning & Development (L&D) programs. A critical role in growing the Learning Operations function at RTX, this role will also help build learning operations standards. Responsibilities within learning program logistics will include scheduling sessions, coordinating enrollments, sending invites, and maintaining the L&D calendar. The Specialist will partner across the L&D function to document processes through Standard Work and leverage the CORE Operating System to enhance domain maturity.

What You Will Do

Learning Delivery Support:

  • Manage end-to-end delivery for prioritized learning programs across the L&D function, to include:
    • Calendarize learning sessions for in-person and virtual instructor led programs, prioritizing support to internally developed skilling programs (ex: Performance Impact) and vendor-sourced learning.
    • Load course dates for enrollment within the LMS.
    • Manage enrollments, sending outlook invites.
    • Manage logistics for in-person delivery: hotel/vendor/venue management, food & beverage, materials management (as needed, for in-person sessions).
    • Monitor L&D course enrollments and partner with L&D team to recommend adjustments to course schedules based on actual enrollment, course demand, and business need.
    • Create surveys for use in L&D programs, in partnership with learning program managers.
    • Create reports and post-training survey analytics, in partnership with learning program managers.
    • Assist with the management of internally created content, helping identify content that needs to be updated, adjusted, or retired based on feedback and data insights.
  • Support the process definition and process improvement of vendor insourcing / outsourcing efforts.
    • Work with the learning operations lead to define new processes necessary to execute programs internally or transition externally.
    • Execute work transfer efforts according to phased roadmap
    • Identify any critical gaps and resourcing requirements, contributing to a business case.

Learning Operations Standard Work Definition:

  • Partner across the L&D function to develop and document processes through Standard Work.
  • Leverage the CORE Operating System to improve domain maturity.
  • Organize and control Standard Work, templates, filing structures, etc.

Learning Operations Team Support:

  • Manage and maintain the calendar of all learning and development activities for the L&D function in partnership with L&D Coordinator.
  • Monitor/enhance internal team storage sites to ensure effective organization of resources.
  • Monitor the L&D Mailbox and triage to internal L&D team members.
  • Manage translations with vendor partners across L&D programs.
  • Participate in cross-team projects for key initiatives, as assigned.
  • Travel up to 20% to support team meetings and program execution.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or
  • An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Project or program management, organization, and the ability to deliver timely, quality projects.
  • Relevant experience in Human Resources, Learning, or Talent Development
  • Ability to pull reports, manage data, and partner with L&D leaders to draw analytic conclusions.
  • Prior experience being an effective collaborator with the ability to build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and utilize data to make decisions.

  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, high-growth environment, demonstrating agility and flexibility, with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with events management, including in-person and virtual events.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with Workday features and functionality.

Location

  • This position can be worked remotely in the U.S. with primary East Coast working hours.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
