How You'll Make An Impact
APIs are the cornerstone of business success in the Agentic AI era, and Boomi is building the platform to conquer API chaos and unleash business potential. As the Senior Solution Domain Expert for API Management, you will own the APIM domain at Boomi: setting the GTM strategy, enabling the field, and bringing deep expertise to the deals that matter most.
Boomi’s APIM offering, built on the acquisitions of Mashery and Apiida, is a core pillar of the Boomi Enterprise Platform, delivering API Federation, API Governance, API Security, and a Developer Portal as part of a unified integration and automation suite. You will be the person who knows this product, this market, and this competitive landscape better than anyone in the building.
Joining alongside peers leading Data Management and iPaaS & MFT, you will complete the Domain Experts team as Boomi executes its $1B platform growth ambition, shifting from single-product tactical deals to multi-product strategic platform selling.

Boomi APIM is not a standalone product, it is a strategic pillar of the Boomi Enterprise Platform, designed to work hand-in-hand with Integration & Automation, Data Management, and AI Agent Management. This creates a uniquely powerful platform story that no single-point APIM vendor can match.
What You'll Do
Sales & Field Engagement
- Lead domain-led discovery and executive labs for Tier 1 strategic APIM opportunities. Drive $300K+ ACV, multi-product, competitive displacement, and enterprise accounts.
- Partner with Account Executives, Sales Engineers and other GTM teams to shift deals from product-led to platform-led, articulating how Boomi APIM solves API chaos as part of the broader Enterprise Platform.
- Working closely with marketing, PMMs and Field engineers to deliver compelling positioning and competitive differentiation for Boomi’s APIM capabilities across Mashery and Apiida to technical architects and C-level buyers alike.
- Support complex RFP/RFI responses and strategic account planning with domain authority and tailored APIM narratives.
Sales Play Development & Execution
- Define and operationalize 1-2 core APIM sales plays per quarter across Demand Generation, Attach, and Expand motions.
- Build (together with PMMs & Field Engineers) all required play assets: executive talk tracks, demo kits, solution briefs, competitive battle cards, and digital sales rooms for Highspot.
- Work cross-functionally with PMM, SDRs, and Partners to activate plays through inbound and outbound motions, and track performance against pipeline and attach rate targets.
Enablement & Thought Leadership
- Lead customer and partner workshops, including GTM labs, executive briefings, and strategic account sessions.
- Enable and coach Sales, SEs, and Field Engineers on the Boomi APIM narrative, platform positioning, and how to win against Kong, Apigee, MuleSoft, Azure APIM, and WSO2.
- Represent Boomi as a credible APIM voice at industry events, analyst engagements, and customer conferences.
Product & Market Intelligence
- Establish a structured field-to-PMM feedback loop to translate customer insights and competitive signals into product roadmap input.
- Monitor the APIM market, including the impact of Agentic AI, MCP (Model Context Protocol), and API security trends and equip the field to respond.
The Experience You Bring
- Proven background in API Management, integration, or an adjacent domain in a Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or Pre-Sales capacity with a clear track record of influencing or driving revenue.
- Deep knowledge of the APIM market: the key players, their strengths and weaknesses, the buying personas, and the enterprise challenges that drive purchase decisions API sprawl, governance gaps, security threats, and multi-gateway fragmentation.
- Hands-on familiarity with API gateway architectures, developer portals, API lifecycle management, and federated API control across multi-cloud environments.
- Ability to engage credibly at all levels from platform architects navigating legacy infrastructure to CIOs building their digital transformation roadmap.
- Experience building and executing structured sales plays: from ICP definition and messaging through to asset creation, field enablement, and pipeline tracking.
- Clear, confident communicator who can translate complex API concepts into compelling business outcomes and ROI narratives.
- Self-directed, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple priorities across a distributed, global team without close supervision.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Hands-on experience with Boomi APIM — specifically the Mashery API Management platform and/or Appita and how they are integrated into the Boomi Enterprise Platform.
- Familiarity with the broader Boomi platform Integration & Automation, Data Management, and AI Agent Management and the platform selling motion.
- Experience in or across APAC or NA markets with an understanding of regional enterprise buying behavior and partner ecosystems.
- Knowledge of Agentic AI, MCP (Model Context Protocol), and how API management plays a foundational role in AI agent connectivity and governance.
- Relevant certifications such as Boomi Professional, MuleSoft Certified, Google Apigee, or equivalent.

The Product & Solutions Domain Experts team is a small, senior group of practitioners embedded across Boomi’s GTM motion, each owning a strategic product pillar. This role fills the open APIM seat alongside colleagues leading Data Management and iPaaS & MFT, completing Boomi’s domain expert coverage as the company scales toward its $1B ambition.
Domain Experts do not own pipeline or quota but they directly shape the strategic deals that drive the biggest revenue impact. You’ll engage where it matters most: competitive takeouts, executive labs, platform plays, and the partnerships that expand Boomi’s footprint.

Boomi is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The On Target Earnings (OTE) for this role are $235K - $294K (inclusive of commission).
