We are seeking a passionate professional to take on a high level of responsibility within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role supports the Electric Power Systems Power Distribution product group.
We are looking for an individual with the capability to lead systems and software teams, including both local and remote members, to develop optimal architectures that balance technical performance and lifecycle cost value. The candidate will oversee and manage the execution of full lifecycle systems and software development for third-generation military secondary power distribution products, as well as the software verification scope for a fourth-generation military secondary power distribution product.
What You Will Do
Leading work in a team environment, sometimes including remote team members, engaging in full life-cycle development (plan, design, verify, certify/qualify) of electric power distribution systems, typically done in C. Certifying to aerospace standards (ARP4754 and DO178B/C are typical, Design Assurance Levels A to C)
Working with project engineers (CIPTs) to create and maintain schedules and budgets for the assigned scope of work on the given projects
Delegation of Systems, Software Development, and Software Verification work activities to individual team members to be completed within the given projects’ schedules and budgets
Collaboration with both internal and external teams to seamlessly integrate distribution product designs into chapter 24 aircraft electrical systems
Mentoring junior team members in both product and process knowledge
Close coordination with the functional manager to exchange performance feedback on the team members and help grow their skills and careers
Aid in collaboration with offshore teams at GETC India and GETC Puerto Rico for Software activities
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
Candidate must be able to lead a cross-functional support team and communicate clearly in various review boards, both internally and externally.
Respect for and compatibility with a structured development process, including well-documented requirements, designs, and test procedures.
Ability to work well both independently and within an integrated product development team environment.
Broad life-cycle experience: from requirements analysis through system integration, including integration lab verification.
Knowledge of aircraft certification requirements related to system safety and reliability (ARP4754, ARP4761, FAR/JAR) and aircraft electrical system architecture.
Familiarity with software certification standards (DO-178B/C).
Familiarity with DOORS software for requirements management.
Familiarity with RTCA, FAA, ARINC, MIL, and ISO specifications.
Electrical sub-systems development (e.g., Chapter 24, aircraft utilities, power distribution units, actuation systems).
Knowledge of Synergy CR, CM, and Polarion for change and configuration management.
Ability to develop and provide estimates for engineering tasks.
Experience coordinating and leading a technical team.
Ability to collaborate with Systems and Software Discipline Chiefs on process improvement activities.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
