Our Principal, Senior Sales Manager - Sales Development is responsible for providing coaching, leadership, and development to a team of lead generation Sales professionals with varying levels of experience. This role will drive the team to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual team goals.  The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of Zayo's products, as well as superior sales coaching and mentoring skills.   

Location: This remote work position will consider applicants that reside in the United States.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop, implement, and optimize multi-channel lead generation strategies to support sales targets and company growth goals. 

  • Manage and mentor a team of lead generation specialists (BDRs) to ensure consistent performance and professional growth.   Partner closely with Zayo’s Sales Enablement function to create development plans for future sellers of Zayo products. 

  • Oversee the creation and management of a robust sales pipeline through targeted campaigns, inbound/outbound initiatives, and data-driven prospecting. 

  • Work closely with marketing, product, and sales operations to align lead generation activities with overall business objectives. 

  • Track KPIs including lead conversion rates, sales qualified leads (SQLs), revenue from new accounts, and campaign ROI. 

  • Leverage CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Salesloft) and marketing automation platforms to manage data, track performance, and forecast results. 

  • Develop a team of sellers, ready for internal mobility throughout Zayo’s sales organization. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college; or equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience within industry sales 

  • Minimum of seven (7) years demonstrated experience leading and coaching sales teams 

  • Experience mentoring and developing entry level sales employees 

  • Demonstrated success and consistency in achieving targeted sales goals. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 

  • Exceptional customer service and relationship building and maintaining skills. 

  • Effective problem solving, leadership, and interpersonal skills 

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills 

  • A sense of urgency and desire to rapidly accelerate results and career with Zayo’s Sales organization 

  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and can work effectively with a diverse group of personalities; must be approachable, show respect for others and be able to present data with effective communication and presentation skills. 

  • Proficiency in MS 365 and Zayo sales tools 

  • Complete understanding of Zayo’s value proposition, products and services  

  • Consistent focus on results and goal achievement. Strong teamwork skills. 

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and anticipate and quickly react to changes in a fast-paced environment 

  • Ability to travel approximately 2-3 times a year 

Estimated base salary range: $89,100 - $118,800 USD/annually. This role is eligible to participate in the sales commission plan.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
