About the role

Join Bunnings Digital and help shape the design direction of large‑scale products used by millions of customers and team members.

As a Principal Product Designer, you’ll lead complex design work end‑to‑end, influence product decisions and lift the quality and consistency of experiences across our ecosystem.

What’s involved

You’ll work closely with product, engineering, data and research to turn customer insight into meaningful outcomes.

Your focus will be on clarity, quality and impact. This includes:

  • Leading design across complex initiatives, from problem definition through to delivery

  • Shaping end‑to‑end customer journeys that balance customer needs, business goals and technical constraints

  • Influencing product direction through strong storytelling grounded in insight and data

  • Making smart trade‑offs and helping teams prioritise high‑value work

  • Playing a key role in evolving and governing our design system to support scalable delivery

  • Coaching and mentoring designers, lifting capability and design maturity across the team

About you

You’re an experienced product designer who enjoys tackling complex problems and helping teams find focus. You’re comfortable working with ambiguity and know how to create clarity through good framing, collaboration and decision‑making. You bring a practical mindset, care deeply about customers and enjoy working closely with others to deliver real outcomes.

You’ll be joining a supportive, down‑to‑earth team that values teamwork, feedback and shared ownership. We work openly, support each other and take pride in building experiences that genuinely help customers and team members.

You’ll need

  • Extensive experience in product, UX or digital design across web and app

  • Strong end‑to‑end design capability, from discovery through to delivery

  • Proven experience influencing product direction and senior stakeholders

  • Deep experience building and maintaining design systems

  • High proficiency in Figma and experience working in agile delivery environments

  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design

  • Experience mentoring designers or leading design work across teams
