Job Description

Summary

The Principal, Pricing and Analytics provides oversight for pharmacy network activities, focusing on the alignment of pharmacy and client network strategies. This role is responsible for the integrity of financial true-ups, advanced analytics, and high-level reporting to drive organizational revenue and cost savings. The Principal manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders and oversees the analysis of large-scale claim data to optimize pricing configurations and ensure all contractual guarantees are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Orchestrates pharmacy network strategies to fulfill corporate initiatives, support product offerings, and grow revenue streams through complex data analytics using a deep understanding of PBM industry, technical skills, and team collaboration;

  • Governs all pharmacy network activities, including the execution of pharmacy and client true-ups, analytics, and performance reporting;

  • Directs comprehensive analyses to identify enhanced revenue opportunities through strategic network configurations and monthly client performance evaluations;

  • Translates complex pharmacy transaction data into actionable insights to ensure all pharmacy and client contract guarantees are met;

  • Leads the development of automated reporting tools to streamline the reconciliation of pricing data and enhance departmental efficiency;

  • Monitors and calibrates performance for all clients, adjusting pricing structures to maximize revenue while maintaining market competitiveness;

  • Spearheads the implementation of strategic pricing initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams;

  • Manages the rigorous tracking and monitoring of pricing benchmarks to ensure consistent alignment with contractual obligations;

  • Provides expert guidance on network performance and pricing trends to internal stakeholders and senior management;

  • Engineers advanced analytical models to forecast the financial impact of proposed network changes or pricing adjustments;

Education and/or Experience

BA/BS Degree; 10+ years related experience and 8+ years of SME in respective area(s); (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Computer Skills

Advanced SQL knowledge, Expert Microsoft Excel, and Golden (SQL query tool)

Work Location

This position works on-site at the San Diego Headquarters or other company location (or from a remote location with management approval based on business requirements). Must provide adequate support to internal clients; be available for regular interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as be available to facilitate effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders.

 

Working Hours

This is an exempt level position requiring the incumbent to work the hours required to fully accomplish job responsibilities and reasonably meet deadlines for work deliverables. The individual must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, at weekends or on holidays as required.  Work hours may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business.  Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

This position requires no travel; however, attendance may be required at various local conferences and meetings.
