We are seeking a talented individual to join our Workforce Solutions team at Mercer. This role will be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Principal, Mercer Workforce Solutions

The Principal will be responsible for building and converting a pipeline of high value Rewards consulting opportunities addressing the business needs and requirements of clients and prospects. They will also play an important role in providing strategic consulting advice and directing the delivery of major projects.

This Director level role will have individual consulting sales and utilisation targets.

We will count on you to:

  • Proactively build market profile and position Mercer as an expert advisor in Rewards
  • Generate new business development opportunities
  • Identify and develop opportunities to grow new business with existing clients
  • Drive the preparation and presentation of proposals and bids
  • Plan, design and direct major client projects, ensuring appropriate project delivery team and project management processes to fully deliver project outcomes to client expectations
  • Provide trusted advice to senior level clients on complex, significant and/or sensitive issues
  • Participate in business and leadership forums
  • Play an active role in the development of others

What you need to have: 

  • Market profile and reputation in Rewards
  • Proven track record of acquiring, developing and sustaining business with clients
  • Proven track record of identifying needs, developing solutions and successfully selling significant scale Rewards consulting interventions to clients
  • Able to develop and sell into high level client relationships
  • Strong team working ability in order to work collaboratively with colleagues in other service and product areas on new and extended business development activities, client relationship management and delivery of integrated solutions
  • Demonstrable analytical, reporting and presentation skills
