As a Medical Science Liaison supporting our Medical Affairs team and Eye Care Professionals, you will be trusted to deliver scientific exchange, foster KOL relationships, and support evidence generation across your assigned region.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Collaborating with Medical Experts and Key Opinion Leaders to solve scientific and clinical challenges, including providing up‑to‑date medical support on Alcon products
- Leading scientific exchange through presentations, congress participation, and peer‑to‑peer engagement to ensure evidence‑based understanding of Alcon therapies and devices
- Supporting Investigator‑Initiated Trials (IITs) from concept to publication, guiding investigators through endorsement, synopsis review, and grant approval
- Collecting, analyzing, and reporting actionable insights from ECP interactions that influence clinical practice, trial design, and strategic planning
- Mentoring and training new MSLs and team members, contributing to scientific excellence and operational best practices
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON
- Education: Advanced degree in Ophthalmology or Optometry
- Years of Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in ophthalmology or optometry (academia, industry, or clinical practice)
- At least 2 years in the ophthalmic device or pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in an HCP‑facing role (>2 years)
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of eye diseases, ophthalmic surgical procedures, and optometry
- Experience with clinical trial design and execution, including post‑market research
- Strong understanding of evidence‑based medicine, regulatory requirements, payer landscape, and biostatistics
- Proven ability to build credible peer‑to‑peer scientific relationships with KOLs
