The Principal System Administrators collaborate across the business to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

What You Will Do:

  • Work as part of a collaborative team in a fast‑paced, air‑gapped, classified environment. Use advanced troubleshooting techniques to resolve moderate to complex technical issues involving operating systems, virtualized workloads, and hardware integration.
  • Support Linux provisioning and configuration tasks including kickstart deployments, automated configuration using Ansible, package management, and container workloads using Podman. Assist with patching processes in a closed network environment where updates are manually introduced.
  • Perform routine backup, restore, and RAID-related tasks as needed.
  • Install and configure software packages requested by end users, ensuring systems remain compliant with cybersecurity requirements. Partner closely with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain required security posture, support RMF/NISPOM/JSIG-aligned processes, and deliver documentation, guidance, and training on advanced IT procedures.
  • Develop solutions and technical documentation for a wide variety of Linux and Windows issues.
  • Systems operate 24x7 and may require occasional work outside standard hours.
  • Position requires up to 5% travel and is a full-time onsite role.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Experience administering Windows Server technologies including WSUS or Exchange in a classified environment
  • Knowledge of data storage concepts, including SAN/NAS solutions and NFS implementations
  • Exposure to containerization and early-stage adoption of Kubernetes or Rancher
