Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization.  This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

Among your responsibilities, you will help design, implement, and maintain robust network infrastructures while actively identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities.

If you are passionate about cyber engineering, possess the required technical expertise, and have a proven record of thinking innovatively to resolve complex problems, you are strongly encouraged to apply for this exceptional opportunity.  As a Cyber Systems Engineer, you will be part of a team encompassing the full product lifecycle of a software development and test environment using your knowledge of operating system administration, Microsoft Configuration Manager, web app design, and security monitoring tools.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience.

  • Must have a current in scope DoD Secret security clearance with an investigation completed within the last 6 years or active in Continuous Evaluation

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain all required security clearances to include Special Program Access (SAP)

  • Must possess current DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification, such as Security+ CE

  • Operating Systems: Demonstrable experience in the management of Windows Server and Desktop systems, including Microsoft Configuration Management (MCM) and PowerShell, as well as a high level of expertise in VMWare applications and management

  • Previous experience managing Active Directory Infrastructure

  • Web App Administration: Proficiency in the administration of Atlassian, Coverity, and Fortify web applications, with a focus on the identification and resolution of performance issues

  • Security Protocols and Monitoring Tools: Profound knowledge of access controls and comprehensive experience in utilizing monitoring tools such as Splunk, Nessus, and SolarWinds to effectively detect and respond to security incidents

  • Ability to work multiple shifts and weekends as program needs arise

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in performing configuration management across multiple systems and architectures

  • A keen eye for problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional communication and teamwork skills will be essential for excelling in this role

  • Experience working with DevOps Processes and Cloud Infrastructure

  • Systems administration experience, to include VMWare, vSphere, VDI, and ESXi

  • Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution and high availability

  • VCP (-DCV preferred) or VCAP certification

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,200.00 - $162,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
