Position Overview

Apollo is seeking a driven high performing individual to join the Institutional Client Group (ICG) team in Hong Kong as a Principal, to focus on capital raising and client servicing for Asia based investors. Primary responsibilities for this role include providing support to the Head of ICG Greater China and Regional Insurers for all aspects of the sales and direct client coverage in Asia across Apollo’s full range of private credit, equity, infrastructure, and real estate products.

Primary Responsibilities

Coverage & execution (Greater China & Regional insurers)

  • lead day-to-day LP coverage and deal execution for Greater China institutional investors and regional insurers, in line with direction from the Head of ICG Greater China.
  • Deliver on account plans, pipeline momentum, meeting cadence, and roadshow/travel execution; escalate C-suite/top-of-house items to the Head of ICG Greater China and other leadership.
  • Serve as senior day-to-day point for client working level teams

Capital raising & solutions

  • Drive fundraising execution across flagship funds, SMAs/managed accounts, co-investments, and bespoke insurer solutions (ALM-aware, capital-efficient structures).
  • Partner with, investment teams, and Apollo Capital Solutions (ACS) for direct and co-investments

Diligence & negotiations

  • Run end-to-end diligence workstreams; coordinate deep dives with product leads.
  • Partner with Legal/Compliance/Tax on commercial terms, side letters, regulatory considerations; negotiate to close.

Client servicing & retention

  • Ensure timely, high-quality responses on performance/finance/ops/tax via associates, client service and product specialist teams.

Team leadership & staffing

  • Manage Associates day-to-day: set priorities alongside the GC ICG lead, coach quality standards, and drive accountability on notes, follow-ups, and deadlines.
  • Allocate resourcing across, RFPs, roadshows, and diligence processes; in coordination with the Head of ICG Greater China

Cross-functional

  • Align and coordinate with ICG business management, roadshow coordinators, portfolio management, product specialists, insurance solutions, and operations to deliver seamless client outcomes.
  • Provide market and competitor intelligence to inform the Head of ICG Greater China’s top-of-house engagement and regional priorities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10–15 years of banking experience within alternatives, with a proven track record raising capital from Greater China LPs and insurers.
  • Mandarin fluency required; strong English communication and executive presence.
  • Demonstrated ability to cover working team day-to-day relationships, grow to senior relationship and close complex allocations/mandates
  • Understanding of insurer capital frameworks preferred, though not completely essential
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the region.
  • Disciplined operator; willing to roll up and do the work, strong judgment, negotiation skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate as a team player – energetic, enthusiastic, and personable.
  • High quality written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support communication with external counterparties.
  • Excels in a rigorous and fast-paced team-oriented work environment
