Program Summary
The Principal HR Generalist will act as a strategic partner to the Readiness and Sustainment Business Development and Supply Chain organizations. This role will provide expert guidance in the full life cycle of HR Administration with best practices while facilitating a positive relationship with personnel and senior management.
Work Location – hybrid schedule; strong preference for candidate to be near KBR Corporate office in Houston, TX
Job Summary
The Principal HR Generalist position will play a critical role in supporting the Business Development team during bid and proposal activities. The role is ideal for a seasoned HR professional with broad generalist experience and a strong understanding of functional and business operations. Additionally, the qualified candidate is/has:

Roles and Responsibilities
The responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Serve as a single point of contact representing HR in all Business Development (BD) activities to include Roundtables, Proposal Kickoffs, Risk Registers, Tag Ups, Milestone Briefs, Transitions, and Green Team discussions.
Ensure that all human resource-related requirements for proposals are accurate, compliant, and aligned with organizational policies.
Will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide workforce planning, compensation analysis, compliance documentation, and staffing strategies for new business opportunities.
Provide early and continuous situational awareness on BD activities and requirements to HR leadership and the HR and Talent Acquisition Teams.
Ensure HR and TA Teams provide substantive, timely inputs to help shape proposals, identify risks & mitigation, begin solutioning, and improve quality of Proposal submissions.
Track completion status to ensure timely HR and TA inputs for BD proposals.
Lead after action reviews with the HR and TA Teams after each proposal submission to identify best practices and how to improve subsequent work.
Provide periodic orientations/refreshers on BD process, timeline, roles, and expectations for all HR and TA BD stakeholders.
Collaborate with HR Recruiting and BD Team to create and maintain a Skills Matrix for visibility on skills available elsewhere in the company.
Day to Day administration of the HRIS functions, including required documentation and workflows on the required schedules. Ensure that all records relating to engagement and pay matters are processed correctly and retained for internal audit and compliance purposes.
Develop and/or support strategies for personnel and organization planning.
Identify and achieve the development needs of leaders and their teams.
Administration of talent planning, annual salary review, promotion planning, performance management, organizational development and all other HR activities and programs.
Support managers and employees in the investigation of and resolution of complex employee relations issues to include: dispute resolutions, disciplinary actions and grievances.
Drives cultural adoption of employee development models through communication and training for managers as well as employees; develops and leads training for managers on performance management best practices.
May direct resources, prioritize tasks, and provide guidance to less experienced team members.
Basic Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Undergraduate degree.
7+ years of relevant HR experience.
Strong Employee Relations experience.
Ability to travel domestically to KBR or customer sites as needed.
Workday experience.
Must be in proximity to a KBR office location, preferably Houston, TX.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive).
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management.
Professional HR certification (i.e., PHR, SHRM-CP).
Demonstrated experience representing HR and partnering with the Business Development organization on bid and proposal efforts.
Hands-on Workday administration experience with fluency in HR transaction processing within the tool.
