Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead with hardware design and manufacturing experience. This position is located in Linthicum, MD.

This IPT Lead will be required to lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for a very important sector priority program with many time-critical elements and high management visibility. They will interface with personnel in the factor test cells, Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance.  In addition, they will brief internal and potentially external customer leadership on progress.

The selected candidate will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings.  The selected candidate is expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

This role is contingent upon candidates having Active U.S. Government Secret clearance, and the ability to obtain an SAP clearance for continued employment.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 5 years of industry experience, or master’s degree and 3 years of industry experience. An additional 4 years of experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Secret clearance required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance and obtain an SAP clearance for continued employment.
  • Experience with hardware design
  • Experience with the BWI factory and/or factory test cell(s)
  • Available onsite at the BWI facility during first shift
  • Leadership experience that may be in areas such as project planning, cost & schedule management including tracking, manufacturing support, vendor support, design team lead, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience leading a team
  • Experience working Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCAs) investigations
  • Experience collaborating with Engineers, Operators, Quality and Management in support of production hardware in the factory
  • Experience developing and executing project schedules
  • Active and current Top Secret government clearance a plus

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
