Job Description:
As a Senior / Principal Data Analyst, you will be the primary architect of our financial reporting layer. You will translate complex data from Salesforce and other core systems into high-performance Snowflake models and sophisticated Power BI data products. This is a high-visibility role that requires a blend of technical data modeling, Power BI / Fabric administration, and the business acumen to ensure our executive leadership has a "single source of truth" for project performance, revenue, and product usage.
Responsibilities
Data Modeling & Transformation (The Engine)
Snowflake Development: Build and maintain clean, well-documented SQL models using CTEs, window functions, and views to power finance-ready reporting.
Salesforce Translation: Map complex Salesforce object relationships (Accounts, Opportunities, Products, and custom project objects) into reliable, flattened reporting tables.
Quality & Reconciliation: Proactively investigate data anomalies, reconcile figures against source systems and publish runbooks to ensure long-term data integrity.
2. Semantic Layer & Visualization (The Interface)
Shape the Semantic Layer: Design star-schema models and complex DAX measures within Power BI/Fabric to maintain "one version of the truth" for all KPIs.
Data Product Delivery: Drive the full lifecycle from stakeholder requirements to delivered dashboards, ensuring reports are "executive-ready" with intuitive UX/UI.
Fabric Administration: Own the Fabric workspace ecosystem, including capacity management, deployment pipelines, row-level security (RLS), and data source credentials.
3. Stakeholder Partnership
Requirement Translation: Partner with Finance and Ops leaders to define metrics and prevent "metric drift" across the organization.
UAT & Change Control: Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and manage the change control process for all production dashboards.
The Ideal Candidate Profile
Technical Mastery
SQL Expert: Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling within Snowflake (specifically joins, windowing, and performance optimization).
Power BI & DAX: Hands-on experience building complex measures and high-end report designs for both exploratory and leadership use.
Fabric Knowledge: Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric administration (workspaces, capacities, semantic models, and gateways).
Salesforce Savvy: Familiarity with Salesforce’s data structure, specifically relating to revenue and project performance.
Business & Leadership Skills
Analytical Precision: A "trust but verify" mindset with a relentless focus on data accuracy.
Strategic Communicator: Ability to present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders and produce crisp documentation.
Qualifications
5–7+ years of experience in Data Analytics or Business Intelligence, ideally within a Finance or SaaS environment.
Proven track record of delivering end-to-end reporting solutions—from raw data ingestion to polished executive dashboards.
Experience with Salesforce data integration and reporting is highly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or Engineering).Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, business, economics, etc.
MBA or Master’s in quantitative disciplines such as analytics, MIS, etc.
