About the Role:
As a Principal Consultant, Org Design, you will serve as a thought leader and independent consultant, shaping Target’s operating model and organizational design. You will work across the enterprise’s most strategic initiatives, equipping leaders and HR teams with the tools and frameworks to build a workforce that drives Target’s long-term success.
Your impact will include:
Leading Operating Model and Organizational Design for the enterprise, ensuring that structure, capabilities, and ways of working enable business strategy and growth.
Acting as an independent consultant on high-impact engagements, working with senior leaders to diagnose, design, and implement workforce strategies.
Developing and embedding methodologies and tools for operating model design, organizational effectiveness, and capability evolution.
Building knowledge across HR by developing training, frameworks, and playbooks for HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and other stakeholders to elevate their impact.
Synthesizing insights and trends from internal and external sources to shape Target’s approach to workforce planning, talent strategy, and organization design.
Partnering with key functions such as HR, Finance, Strategy, and Business Leaders to align organizational design with business objectives.

About You:
Proven experience in operating model strategy, organizational design, and capability planning at an enterprise level.
Strong consulting and advisory skills, with the ability to influence and partner with senior leaders.
Ability to think horizontally across the organization, connecting dots and surfacing insights that drive strategic decisions.
Experience designing and facilitating training to build capability within HR and leadership teams.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex workforce data into actionable insights and frameworks.
Resilient and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills in navigating complex organizational challenges.
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
