Principal Consultant Engineer (APM)

The Role

We are looking for a Principal Consultant to join our Asset Performance Management (APM) team at Emerson Aspentech. This role would be part of our Professional Services organization and will be based in either Italy or Spain. The main responsibility would be to lead software implementation projects for Mtell. This is a unique position for an exceptional consultant to be a change agent by working on project implementations with our business customers and traveling to their locations as required to support the deployments. This role is responsible for project technical and business value success. Competency in reliability best practices, historians, data analytics, and chemical processes is expected. Knowledge of rotating assets, such as compressors, motors, pumps, and turbines is expected.

This is also a very creative role that contributes to improve and create internal processes and tools to meet customer’s needs.

Your Impact

  • Deliver consulting services including solutions architecture & design,
    implementation, training, and advisory services in supporting client’s exploitation of AspenTech Mtell, Fidelis, and ProMV products.
  • Design and configure model-based decision support systems and data
    integration with external systems and databases.
  • Co-ordinate solution delivery in concert with AspenTech Project Management and the client, to ensure projects achieve stated milestones, delivery dates and
    financial goals.
  • Engage with customer to provide direction regarding how to best incorporate the guidance provided by APM suite into their daily work processes to drive value
  • Maintain and extend client satisfaction levels and develop opportunities for
    additional Services.
  • Work with different departments internally to achieve project implementation
    excellence and success.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following career: Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical engineering
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in process operations with focus on
    equipment maintenance and/or reliability in oil & gas, chemical, and/or
    petrochemical industries.
  • Strong understanding of chemical economics, and ability to interact with
    customers about plants, processes and manufacturing economics.
  • Advanced English language level
  • Experience in AOI, Webstudio, Power Bi or other dashboard platforms are
    considered a plus.
  • Programming in Python, R, or Lua are considered a plus.
  • Data analytic experience is mandatory
  • Knowledge in data science areas or specializations are considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning technologies is desirable
  • Self-discipline and motivation to produce results with remote supervision
