Job Summary:
Hospitality Solutions is seeking a skilled Principal Cloud Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building cloud foundations, automating infrastructure provisioning, and supporting enterprise-grade cloud solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cloud implementation, optimize infrastructure, and ensure best practices for security, performance, and cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform and IaC principles.
- Build and maintain cloud foundations, including network configurations, IAM policies, and security controls.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement and maintain scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on GCP (e.g., Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery).
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate cloud solutions with application workflows.
- Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with security best practices and industry standards
- Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and runbooks.
- Participate in architecture reviews and provide recommendations for improving cloud infrastructure.
- Stay updated on GCP services, Terraform updates, and emerging cloud technologies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., VPC, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, IAM).
- Proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code, including writing, testing, and maintaining modules.
- Strong understanding of cloud foundation principles (e.g., networking, identity management, security, monitoring).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) for automated deployments.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of cloud security best practices, including encryption, access control, and logging.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect, Professional DevOps Engineer, or Associate Cloud Engineer certification.
- Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) for multi-cloud environments.
- Familiarity with additional IaC tools (e.g., Ansible, Pulumi, CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of observability tools (e.g., Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience with cost optimization strategies for cloud resources.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and serverless computing.
