We are actively seeking a Principal Business Analyst. This is remote position and can be based anywhere in Brazil.

Position Summary

This role is a Principal Business Analyst, SAP Financials in our Global Product Development group supporting Latin America. The primary responsibility for this role is to deliver SAP system specific legislative and regulatory updates for our customers to ensure their SAP systems are kept compliant with the various legal requirements published by agencies and governments globally. 

Functional Analysts combine in-depth product expertise with the latest tax and regulatory changes to produce system impact specifications and test strategies for Development & QA.  The position will follow each tax and regulatory change from discovery through successful translation into an application update, supporting multiple SAP modules. This role is vital in providing high quality deliverables to our clients and keeping their mission critical enterprise applications in compliance.  The role requires expertise and skills to diagnose serious issues; work Scrum and Kanban teams to develop, test, package and deliver fixes for such issues in complex, integrated and highly configured environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own the translation of Latin America (LATAM) tax and regulatory financial requirements into scalable, compliant system solutions for clients’ ERP (SAP) environments.

  • Act as a recognized SAP Subject Matter Expert for LATAM tax and regulatory changes, providing authoritative guidance to clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional problem‑solving discussions with clients and internal operational teams to drive resolution of complex LATAM tax and regulatory updates.

  • Maintain deep functional and technical expertise across multiple SAP versions, advising on best‑fit solutions and impacts.

  • Ensure end‑to‑end product compliance with all applicable LATAM legislation and regulations through comprehensive analysis of tax and legislative changes and the creation of high‑quality Business Analysis and Functional Specifications.

  • Provide expert-level understanding of LATAM business processes, delivering insight across the full end‑to‑end operational and compliance lifecycle.

  • Lead the analysis, design, and configuration of complex legislative requirements, including validation through testing, and drive the creation of well-defined user stories for Scrum teams.

  • Drive the design and execution of comprehensive test strategies and test plans to ensure quality, stability, and regulatory compliance of deliverables.

  • Proactively identify potential delivery risks or points of contention, developing and executing mitigation strategies to protect timelines, scope, and budget.

  • Anticipate and define complex problems and risks, analyze root causes, and guide teams toward effective, sustainable solutions.

  • Own risk identification and management for development deliverables, ensuring risks and issues are actively tracked, communicated, and resolved.

  • Lead complex troubleshooting efforts for Tax & Regulatory client cases, providing expert-level resolution and guidance.

  • Serve as a subject authority on how LATAM legislation is configured, processed, and maintained within SAP solutions.

  • Own the design and development of business requirements, functional user stories, configuration requirements, and test plans, ensuring clarity and completeness.

  • Partner closely with Development teams to ensure functional designs are adhered to and that business and regulatory requirements are fully met.

  • Define and oversee test strategies, review and approve test plans, and collaborate with QA teams to ensure consistent, high‑quality outcomes.

  • Provide planning and execution support to Development and QA leadership for product-specific Tax & Regulatory initiatives, including release bundling, scheduling, and tracking.

  • Ensure accurate, timely, and clear communication of regulatory updates to internal teams and clients through release documentation, installation guides, and configuration instructions.

  • Act as a primary liaison between Global Tax & Regulatory, Development, QA, Support/AMS teams, and the client base, ensuring consistent and accurate dissemination of LATAM legislative changes.

  • Communicate effectively and influence across diverse internal and external stakeholders to align priorities and drive outcomes.

  • Contribute to the evolution of knowledge‑sharing frameworks, diagnostic tools, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the client experience.

  • Collaborate effectively within a global, virtual team environment, applying experience and judgment across a broad range of client scenarios.

  • Demonstrate accountability for excellence by consistently delivering high‑quality, compliant, and reliable solutions.

Location

  • Brazil, remote work

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Accounting or financial background, or equivalent experience.

Language

  • Fluent Portuguese and English. Spanish as a plus.

Experience  

  • Knowledge of Brazil localization tax and regulatory requirements, such as SPED fiscal, etc.

  • Knowledge on new Brazil tax reform topics, such new taxes as IBS, CBS and be up to date with upcoming demands

  • Experience (15+ years) LATAM SAP projects as primary duties

  • In-depth functional/technical knowledge and understanding of SAP system

  • Working knowledge of LATAM from a business perspective and as an end-to-end process

  • In depth understanding of configuration of SAP Modules

  • A track record of successful roles in several Enterprise Application projects (including full development and full QA lifecycle processes)

  • Ability to work closely with the Global Tax & Regulatory team to ensure the accurate transfer and comprehension of all critical information relating to each tax and regulatory change

  • Ability to work closely with development to ensure adherence to functional specifications and to work with QA team to develop high level test plans and test strategies

Skills  

  • Proficient in developing Business Analysis and Functional specification documentations from regulatory and tax data.

  • Experience in the support of global SAP operations.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and product management skills

  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • Must be strong self-starter and with a committed work environment with stable internet service

  • Strong interpersonal, professional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with other groups within the delivery organization.

  • B-lingual Portuguese/English, conversational and written.

  • Passionate focus on customer support and the ability to build long term, successful working relationships with Clients with high satisfaction

  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in high pressure situations

  • The ability to work remotely from a home-based office in a virtual environment;
