Position Overview

The individual will lead the Asia Business Finance team, partnering closely with the CFO for Europe and Asia Pacific, the Head of Asia Pacific and senior business leaders to advance Apollo’s strategic priorities across the Asia Pacific region. The role combines strategic finance business partnering to drive regional financial performance with managerial oversight of fund controller teams in Hong Kong and Mumbai.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with regional business leads and COOs to track key financial performance metrics and business drivers, leveraging insights to support informed decision-making and providing an independent perspective and constructive challenge.
  • Support Investment teams on new business activities including new fund and SPV structures working closely with other internal teams across Legal, Compliance, Operations etc.
  • Maintain a strong control environment and financial reporting process by overseeing the fund controller team responsible for NAV and financial statement production for Funds and SPV entities, investor reporting, internal management reporting as well as overseeing work of Administrators and other service providers.
  • Represent the APAC region to ensure the nuances of APAC countries are well understood in global finance forums.
  • Collaborate with global finance teams on key data, process and automation initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners including auditors and other stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years in Financial Services, ideally within an alternative asset management firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field preferred; MSc/MBA is a plus.
  • ACA, CPA, or equivalent qualification is strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of current financial industry topics relevant to Apollo’s business.
  • Proven track record in strategic finance business partnering and fund accounting experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams across locations and developing top talent.
  • Proactive, results-orientated, with the ability to see the big picture and take ownership of tasks through to completion in a demanding and dynamic pan Asia Pacific environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex issues clearly and succinctly to diverse local and global stakeholders.
