We are seeking a Principal Accounting & Financial Analysis Specialist to join our Thermal, Electronic & Defense Systems (TEDS) team within Mission Critical Products, an SSBU in the Mission Systems Business Unit.  


In this role, you will support the Durham, New Hampshire and Simpsonville, South Carolina sites, partnering closely with site Controllers to provide accounting and financial analysis support. This position will work onsite at one of these locations.

What You Will Do 

  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Support site controller/s and serve as the site cost accountant
  • Perform cost and margin analysis, including standard cost reviews and ad hoc profitability assessments
  • Partner with site controllers on month-end close, reporting, and financial analysis
  • Prepare journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner
  • Support internal control compliance and internal/external audit requests
  • Identify and implement process improvements to support business growth and efficiency
  • Develop and standardize templates and processes across multiple sites
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed
  • Travel up to 10%

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience in Finance/Accounting
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, including complex financial analysis

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or related field
  • Hands-on experience with OneStream and ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
  • Experience supporting month-end close processes
  • Aerospace and manufacturing environment experience
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
