Position Overview
Are you tenacious and have experience building trusted relationships? Do you love the craft of sales, especially complex enterprise-level sales? Principal, Account Executive, Expansion is responsible for growing sales in 25+ accounts within your assigned portfolio. This job is assigned a sales quota and performance is measured by meeting quarterly and annual targets by up-selling, add-on sales, and cross-selling.  This position is remote and reports to the Manager, Expansion for the West US region. The assigned territory is predominantly in the Los Angeles / San Fracisco metro area.

This role oversees buyer seat expansion, forecasts pipeline performance, and partners with technical and extended sales teams to co-develop customer solutions. Principal, Account Executive, Expansion acts as a trusted advisor to senior customer stakeholders, applying strategic insight, industry knowledge, and adaptive communication to drive long term customer value and business growth.


Responsibilities

  • Manage your book of business; sell new products and expand existing renewals to meet quarterly targets

  • Lead account strategy and manage the sales cycle for new sales and renewals

  • Produce new opportunity pipeline each week to meet quarterly and annual quota targets

  • Be a model representative of Autodesk. Lead presentations to clients, build trusted-advisor relationships with customers, and attend marketing events/conferences

  • Exemplify team-selling culture. Collaborate with your extended account team, which include: Business Development Rep, Account Technical Lead, Customer Success Managers, Renewal Rep, channel partners, and many other team members

  • Deliver accurate forecasts of your business

  • Lead strategic account planning for your accounts, collaborating with extended account team

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience with experience in quota attainment

  • Enterprise software sales experience in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction or Manufacturing industries

  • Experience prospecting and meeting with C-level contacts

  • Demonstrated closing and negotiation skills

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $178,700 and $320,430. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
