What You Will Do:

The Communications Technician shall be responsible for organizational repair/maintenance of all communications equipment, including Fixed Site Antennae Mast Group (FSAMG) and Tactical Site Interface Kit (TSIK) towers, in support of the Fire Units and Battalions. The Communication Technician shall provide technical assistance and sustainment/refresher training to UAE personnel.  The Communications Tech shall provide technical advice, assistance, and demonstration of methods to UAE military personnel (to include UAE Armed Forces civilian contractors applicably authorized via the International Traffic and Arms Regulation (ITAR)) for the testing, maintenance, repair, configuration, and operation of all communications and related equipment within the Battalion/FU area of operations including FSAMG and TSIK tower equipment, Ultra High Frequency, and Very High Frequency (UHF/VHF) radios, COMSEC, IP Routers, Servers, cabling, etc. The Communications Tech shall assist in the coordination of maintenance/repairs with battalion and CMF personnel. Communications Tech shall provide expertise on communications planning for fixed site and tactical deployments. Communications Tech shall also be responsible for Tower Mounted UHF/VHF equipment that requires certification as a Communications Tower Worker.

This position is located in Abu Dhabi, UAE.  This assignment is for short term only.

Qualifications You Must Have :

·        The CTA Communications Technician shall have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the repair, operation and sustainment of UHF / VHF communication systems and networks and possess a demonstrated experience and knowledge of PATRIOT communication networks.

·        Shall be a graduate of the Communications / Network Switching Repairer (MOSs 25F/25U) Course or a graduate of a technical school or manufacturer's course of instruction on communication systems.

·        The CTA Communications Technician shall possess work experience in troubleshooting, fault isolation, disassembly, repair, assembly and checkout of communication / network switching systems.

·        The CTA Communications Technician shall have additional demonstrated experience of one (1) year or more in network administration and operation with TCIP, VOIP and fiber optic network operations. The additional demonstrated experience is required because of the specialized UAE PATRIOT Communication network.

·        The CTA Communications Technician shall possess a demonstrated skill in the use of engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, general-purpose commercial test equipment, and common tools. 

·        The CTA Communications Technician shall have certification as a Communications Tower Worker (climb certification).

Qualifications We Prefer:

General network knowledge, understanding of how TCP/IP works and how to do simple tasks like pings,

Windows networking setup, and detailed knowledge of current military communications.

Possess knowledge running Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE), Single Channel Ground & Airborne Radios (SINCGARS), Enhanced Position Location Reporting Systems (EPLRS), and Global Positioning System (GPS).

Tactical internet and satellite communications experience.

Demonstrated experience with Raytheon Quality Control procedures.

Demonstrated experience of the Patriot refurbishment, modification, and system integration and check out (SICO) process.

Demonstrated comprehensive planning skills.

Exceptional judgment and decision-making skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with special focus on achieving active participation of appropriate individuals across the business.

Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Previous experience in International Patriot FMS Programs.

Experience living and working in an overseas location.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of related experience, or Associates Degree with 8 years’ experience or HS Diploma/GED with 12 years of related experience.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
