Join a collaborative, forward thinking team as a Principal Business Information Analyst, where data is used not just to report the past, but to shape the future. In this position, you will partner closely with senior leaders, innovation teams, and functional experts to turn complex information into clear direction. Your work will help identify growth opportunities, measure impact, track progress against goals, and continuously improve how decisions are made. You will lead the design of business insights that connect strategy to execution. This includes defining what success looks like, creating clear performance measures, and building dashboards and tools that leaders trust. You will translate business questions into data solutions, validate new concepts using evidence, and help teams focus on the work that delivers the greatest value. This role goes beyond reporting. You will shape strategic narratives, create executive level materials, and guide teams using clear metrics and objectives. You will also help modernize how insights are delivered by using automation, low code tools, and cloud platforms to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Partner with business and innovation leaders to uncover new opportunities and validate ideas using data driven analysis
• Translate strategic priorities into measurable objectives and key results, meaning clear goals and how success is measured
• Define and track key performance indicators, meaning the most important numbers that show progress and impact
• Build and maintain executive level dashboards and reports that support decision making and investment choices
• Create strategic artifacts such as business cases, performance scorecards, roadmaps, and executive summaries
• Lead business insight efforts that support drug development, research, and innovation initiatives
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities using data
• Develop and automate reporting solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps for simple business tools
• Support agile ways of working, meaning short planning cycles, fast feedback, and ongoing improvement
• Use Azure DevOps or Microsoft Kanban tools to track work, priorities, and delivery progress
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and trust through strong data governance practices
• Present insights and recommendations clearly to senior and executive leadership
• Collaborate across functions in a global and matrixed environment
REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree with 6 years of experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience in business analytics, business intelligence, or data driven strategy roles
• Preferred fields of study include Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Business Performance, Engineering, or related disciplines
• Strong experience turning business strategy into measurable goals and performance metrics
• Proven experience working with Objectives and Key Results, meaning goal setting frameworks that link strategy to outcomes
• Expert ability to define, track, and explain Key Performance Indicators and business performance measures
• Advanced skills in statistical analysis and data modeling
• Advanced skills in Structured Query Language (SQL), meaning the language used to work with databases
• Strong experience with Power BI for dashboards and executive reporting or data analytics and visualization tools
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, or JDE, and Customer Relationship Management tools like Salesforce
• Experience with Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis
• Experience using Microsoft Azure, meaning Microsoft’s cloud platform
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or Kanban tools for managing work and priorities
• Experience with agile and scrum ways of working, meaning iterative delivery and close business collaboration
• Ability to create strategic business materials including executive presentations, investment cases, and performance business reviews
• Strong communication skills with proven experience presenting to senior and executive audiences
• Strong project management abilities and experience leading cross-functional initiatives
• Experience driving continuous improvement using data and structured problem solving (Lean, Six Sigma)
• Knowledge of Power Apps or other low code tools to build simple business solutions and automate processes
• Ability to work independently while influencing across teams and leadership levels
