Job Title: Primary Therapist - Registered Nurse

Position Summary:
Provide mental health treatment, with emphasis on pharmacotherapy, while allowing the patient the highest quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to assess patient’s need for psychotropic medications appropriate to the chronological and development age of adjusts, children and adolescents.
• Accurately documents data obtained from psychotropic needs assessment of patient and of collaborations with primary care providers, psychiatrists, and other health team members.
• Plans and implements appropriate pharmacologic therapies interventions and evaluations of interventions of psychotropic medications prescribed including efficacy of medications.
• Updates MSR yearly and as needed as medical status changes.
• Assesses patient’s current mental status and ability to follow medical recommendations.
• Administers and stores psychotropic medications safely and in accordance with BHN policy.
• Monitors patient response to psychotropic medications.
• Provides psychotropic medication education and materials to patient and family members.
• Provides teaching and resources to multidisciplinary team members around psychotropic medications.
Treatment Plan
• Formulates a comprehensive treatment plan integrating comprehensive information from the client, chart and other appropriate sources.
• Collaborates with patient and others to review objectives and outcomes of care.
• Coordinates care with primary medical providers and others in the community.
• Evaluates treatment plan in accordance with BHN policy and revises treatment plan based on most current assessment data.
• Develop discharge criteria for termination of the patient from treatment as part of the treatment process
Implementation of Treatment Plan
• Engages in therapeutic relationships that focus on patient’s needs and provides a structured process for patient to reach the objectives outlined in the treatment plan.
• Revises interventions based on patient’s response.
• Documents all treatment contacts accurately and in accordance with BHN policy.
• Collaborates and communicates with primary care providers and multidisciplinary team as appropriate and documents contacts in patient’s record.
Caseload Management
• Demonstrates ability to maintain a dynamic caseload.
• Demonstrates ability to determine medical necessity of care for patient.
• Articulates status of progress of patients on caseload, focus of treatment and plan for length of stay.
• Demonstrates ability to effectively and efficiently manage the indirect responsibility of patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ASN) or nursing diploma required, Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
• Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills
Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
• Current New York State Registered Nursing license

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
