JOB SUMMARY
The Primary Care – Staff RN works under the direction of hospital employed physicians and advanced practice providers (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide quality patient care in the medical office setting. The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
Preferred/Optional: None
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Minimum Required: At least 1 year of nursing experience (LPN or RN).
Preferred/Optional: 2-3 years of nursing experience in outpatient or clinic setting, care coordination, and familiarity with data reporting. Skilled in caring for patients with chronic conditions, applying evidence-based care principles, and assessing patients for triage and care coordination needs.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Current Registered Nurse license in Michigan upon hire/transfer and Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin within 60 days of hire/transfer. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of hire/transfer.
