Mō te tūranga | About the Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Pricing Analyst to assist in the execution of the Westpac NZ pricing strategy across our entire product portfolio. This opportunity will enable you to be part of a team that delivers meaningful customer insights and management of the pricing process.

As a Pricing Analyst you will be an integral member of the Pricing Team and promote achievement of business objectives through providing robust pricing decisions that maximise profitability. You will be responsible for performing activities related to price quoting, customer profitability analysis and promoting the use of standard pricing and estimating tools.

Key responsibilities to this role are: 

  • Managing pricing exceptions and supporting price setting

  • Providing pricing and competitor insights and reporting to senior stakeholders

  • Assisting in general with Pricing Team queries to manage peaks in demand

  • Managing key metrics and other analytical insights regarding pricing activities

  • Identifying new pricing opportunities in the client base that could drive growth in revenue

  • Responding to complex product related enquiries from the Consumer and Business networks 

  • Providing feedback to the Product teams on pricing activity in the market

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the banking industry

  • Relevant tertiary qualification

  • Experience in managing customer queries

  • Product knowledge of mortgage/housing loans, deposits, and general banking products; business lending an advantage

  • Proven analytical skills in a large complex environment

  • Strong technical software skills – Excel, Word, NZLO, Terminet, P&E and Sales Customer with working knowledge of Access an advantage

  • Process orientated with the ability to understand the big picture while paying attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a customer centric approach to delivery
