Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to operate the Colorliner press at our Concord printing plant. This role is essential to our production process and includes everything from handling the newsprint rolls, preparing for operation, plating, running of the press, cleaning and routine maintenance.
What you will do:
Operate press units, including plating, setting ink and rollers, webbing, and operating controls
Handle newsprint rolls and assist with newsprint warehouse and reel room operations
Operate a forklift/clamp truck in a safe, competent manner
Perform press maintenance tasks as assigned
Work in a safe manner using all appropriate safety equipment, including guards and safe buttons
Properly plate and remove plates, remove and install blankets, and purge black and color ink rails
Achieve ink and water balances, as well as density targets during press runs
What you will bring:
Effective communication, both verbally and in writing
Competency in press console operations
Ability to read and understand markups for page location and color positions on all runs
Specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
High-school diploma or General Education Development (GED) degree
Previous press experience required
Benefits and Compensation:
The hourly range is $24.00 - $26.00.
